Buzz vs Buzz: AT&T Buzz opens to public
Apr 21, 2010 | Comments 1
Its going to be Buzz vs Buzz. Yes, AT&T thinks there is space for another ‘Buzz’, and today, they’ve opened up Buzz.com to the public. Buzz is a location-based search and review site for businesses where users can rate, review and favorite their local hot spots. There is already couple of services and in that Foursquare is doing well. Other services that uses location based search are Google Places and Yelp.
Unlike Google and Foursquare , Buzz is integrated with Facebook Connect and will likely soon integrate with Twitter as well. That means you’ll be able to send out a question or get a recommendation on the platforms you already use. And you dont need to go through the registration and About me, interest etc. Just click on Facebook connect and you are in.
Buzz is in beta right now but will likely see upgrades and changes. We’re also interested in seeing how AT&T will integrate its own network of users, specifically those with smart phones like the iPhone in hand. Another interesting thing to note is that AT&T, a company who developed Unix and other flavours of great software really trying to enter the already crowded social networking arena?
Here’s a video that does a little bit of explaining of what Buzz does from AT&T
