How to delvelop .Net Apps on iPad & iPhone

Its all about grabbing the gadget app world. Apple already got a very reputable App store where many developers build application with complex programming languages, such as Objective-C and C. iPad developer program and licence limits these languages that application developers can use. But now .Net developers can able to develop application for ipad by using a tool developed by MotoTouch, a Novell company.

MonoTouch allows developers to create C# and .NET based applications that run on Apple’s iPhone/iPad and Apple’s iPod Touch devices, while taking advantage of the iPhone APIs and reusing both code and libraries that have been built for .NET, as well as existing skills.

Novell representative, in a blog. “MonoTouch is a software development kit that will enable iPad developers to utilize code and libraries written for the .Net development framework and easier-to-use programming languages such as C#. Microsoft .Net developers will be able to use MonoTouch while fully complying with Apple’s licence terms.”

Developers would use version 3.2 of the Apple iPhone SDK as well as MonoTouch and the MonoDevelop IDE. Applications leverage the Mono runtime, which enables .Net to run on non-Windows platforms. For individual developers, MonoTouch costs £244 for a one year subscription. The enterprise edition costs £610 and an enterprise edition that supports five concurrent users runs for £2,460.
