Samsung GALAXY Tab Announced

There are more iPad like tablets on the way and the latest is from Samsung. Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab at the ongoing IFA 2010 convention in Berlin, Germany. The tablet is based on Google’s Android 2.2(froyo) operating system. This 7-inch tablet capable of full HD videos playback. All in all its just look like iPad (9.7 inch diagonal) but slightly smaller. Its got Flash player 10.1 where iPad has no flash support.  Galaxy Tab  will be available in Europe in two weeks from now and will be launched in US and Asia  in the coming months.  The pricing will be around $300 but no official confirmation till now.

Galaxy Tab has 7-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display that supports 1024×600 WSVGA pixel resolution. It has a 1.0GHz Application processor with PowerVR SGX540 CPU. Samsung will offer the Galaxy Tab in 16GB and 32GB versions. You can add up to 32GB memory card in the expandable memory slot.

Galaxy Tab 1.3megapixel front camera and 3 megapixel autofocus camera at the back with video calling enabled. Interactive 3D gaming as well as several other apps, Samsung has added Gyroscope sensor and Accelerometer sensors along with Geo-Magnetic sensor.

Galaxy Tab will support quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks and tri-band 3G (HSUPA 5.76Mbps, HSDPA 7.2Mbps) networks with Wi-Fi (802.11n) and Bluetooth 3.0 for wireless connectivity with other devices/peripherals. Galaxy Tab can run a movie for up to 7 hours.
